Randall Charles "Randy"  Beaman
Randall “Randy” Charles Beaman, a native Houstonian, passed away on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at the age of 67. He was confirmed by Bishop C. Andrew Doyle in the nave of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church & attended Christ Church Cathedral in Downtown Houston. Randall was a sustaining member of the Harris County Democratic Party & an active member of the GLBT Political Caucus of Houston. In past years he was the Home Delivery Champ @ Heights Interfaith Ministries and a member of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Houston. Randall was a member, neighbor, & Friend of West 11th Street Park & was instrumental in saving the last 20 undeveloped acres Inside the Loop. He was also a member of the Houston Outdoor Group. Randall was a regular breakfast volunteer @ Lord of the Streets, a program for the Homeless @ Trinity Episcopal Church. For nearly 40 years, he provided Crisis intervention & counseling services to disenfranchised young people in oppressed neighborhoods in Harris & Fort Bend Counties in a variety of positions. In Retirement, Randall also continued to be on call as an Associate Teacher in HISD. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, BC and Dorothy Ann Beavlieu Beaman. He is survived by numerous cousins and countless friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Christ Church Cathedral, where The Most Reverend Barkley S. Thompson will officiate. Randall will be inurned in the Cathedral Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Lord of the Streets of Houston, http://www. lordofthestreets.org/.
