Obituary for Gary Ibsen

Gary  Ibsen
Gary G. Ibsen, 77, of Houston, passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at his residence in Houston surrounded by his family. He was born on October 5, 1940, to Ludwig B. And Cordie M. Ibsen in Waco, Texas.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, mother and twin brother.He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Harriet Ritchie Ibsen; children, Laurie Ibsen-Hardee of Charlotte NC, and Gregory Glynn Ibsen of Houston. He has eight grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Gary is also survived by his sister, Mrs. Anita Fannon of Norman, OK and several nieces and nephews.

Gary graduated from La Vega High School- Waco, TX and studied at 4C Business College.He served in the National Guard Reserve as a medic. He spent many years as a Quality Control Inspector at Cameron Iron Works in Houston. He attended Lazybrook Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed music, writing poems and playing the steel guitar.

We would like to express our gratitude to Pastor John Neesley and our Lazybrook Church family, Hospice Compassus, A Sacred Choice- (with special appreciation to Ms. Bery Crispin), Dr. Jeffrey Y. Lee, and the many friends and neighbors for your love and support.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Lazybrook Baptist Church, 1822 W. 18th St. Houston 77008.
